Billie Holiday, low and soft. A long, dark, wood-lined room: tables for four down one side, a straight counter down the other, and quiet conversation among contented solo readers. Skipper happily read the magazines he'd just bought at Tsutaya in Ginza Six. House rules ask for quiet voices and are strict about photos. The city roast was forgettable for Joa, a little bitter, and the shared gâteau au chocolat was just as expected. Come for the music and the hush. Cash only; Japanese-style toilet.
